According to the Bible:
"the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"
(Romans 6:23).
As sinners, the penalty that we have to pay for our sin is death. Not one person can escape death on this earth, therefore all of us are sinners (Romans 5:12-14). But, what kind of sin did we commit that deserves death? Was it just a minor offense? We robbed a store, or said harsh words to our neighbor, and that is why we have to die? What kind of crime is deserving death?
When Jesus Christ came, he preached to "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near" (Matthew 4:17).
Christ came to this earth to save the sinners who committed grievious sins in Heaven--so much that we are deserving of death. He suffered gravely for our sins--so much that we cannot imagine, and eagerly wants us to repent (2 Peter 3:9).
But how can we fulfill this request? What is the way that we can come to repentance?
Some say is by giving food or shelter to the needy.
Others claim that they repent by being a "good person" and/or by believing in Jesus Christ.
But, what did God say?
How can we received the forgiveness of sins?
