I had a women stop me today and ask me if I had faith, my instinct reaction was to say of course; but do I really? What does it mean to have true faith?
But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” Romans 10:16
Most people have faith in God based on what they have heard, through family members or perhaps church but never biblically based. Then I ask again what is true faith?
The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:24-27
Then in order to be considered God’s sheep/children we need to follow in Christ’s example! Obey God’s word 100%, that’s true faith. I can’t just believe what anyone says unless its in the bible because God’s word is absolute!!
“And without faith it is impossible to please God” Hebrews 11:6
